Morro Bay Complete Remodel

Complete Overhaul Of Dated Morrow Bay Home

Bringing Their Dream To Life

BEFORE

AFTER

A brand new home, just to their liking.

This beloved Morro Bay home was inherited, and it was time to make it their own. In dire need of an update, layout change, and a little more space, we decided to strip this home down to the studs and start anew. When we were finished, we delivered our client a brand new home, exactly to their liking.

The very first thing we did was rip everything out of this dated Morro Bay home down to the studs. In order to find room for the kitchen in this cramped house, we moved several things around. We eliminated this hall bathroom and an upstairs bedroom. Giving half the space to a larger kitchen and half to create a larger master bathroom. The existing stairs were very funky, making you go down before going up to the master bedroom.

For this 5 month remodel and addition, the client moved into a rental across town. For jobs of this size, there is really no way around it. The house was without electrical and plumbing for weeks at a time. Two of the first tasks tackled were demolition and replacement of the sewer lateral. Because of the age of the home and its pipes and the addition of a bathroom, the city required us to replace the entire line to the street.

This inherited house now feels like home.

Maximizing their view of Morro Rock was a priority, as was gaining another bedroom. We accomplished both of these things in one fell swoop. A bedroom and bathroom addition below, with a roof deck off the living room above.

This client fell in love with a piece of granite that we used on the island and bathroom vanity tops. The rest of the aesthetic was built around this one piece and came together beautifully. His dark plank vinyl ties the whole house together, causing the spaces to look expansive. Plank Vinyl is a great choice for this beach house because it is completely waterproof and easy to clean. The pony wall and new stairwell windows allowed for even more light and fantastic views from any part of the home.

All in all, this client got everything they were hoping for. Bright open spaces for entertaining family and friends. Amazing outdoor living areas, fantastic views, and a spa-like master suite. This inherited house now feels like home.
