Mikhail obtained his General Contractor License in April 2000 but has been in the industry far before that. The Gannage Family has been involved in property development for three generations. His attention to detail, extensive construction knowledge and commitment to excellent, timely communication are some of the things that set him apart from other general contractors. Making smart investment choices is something Mikhail is passionate about and it shows in how he guides his clients.
“30 percent of all new construction-related business fail the first year…74 percent fail by the end of the third year. 90- to 96 percent fail by the end of the 10-year cycle” – Michael C. Stone, author.
Mikhail is proud to have been in business for over 19 years and going strong.
Mikhail is the father to 4 children, two are currently attending college. Mikhail understands that helping provide shape to the dreams of our youth changes their reality. He donates his time to several local non-profits like Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation where he is on the board and steering committee for their new building. In Mikhail’s free time he coaches a high school speech and debate team, tends to his ranch and enjoys taking his wife, Keena, on dates.
DENISE KNEESKERN, UDCP
Residential Design Professional
Denise has been with Gannage Design & Construction since 2015. Denise lives with her husband, Michael, of 13 years, two sons, and cat Reese. She enjoys camping, fishing, gardening, and reading in her spare time. She is a Universal Design
Certified Professional (UDCP). Universal Design, simply put, takes into account all current and potential physical and age-specific needs, such as door openings that can accommodate a double stroller for your children and a walker for your parents. Denise loves to incorporate color into her designs. Designing spaces that are unique, bright and practical are her passion. She has a great eye for design and loves to help our clients turn their dreams into reality. She has a great working relationship with several construction supply companies both locally and online. This allows her to find exactly what you are looking for at the best price point possible. Actually swinging a hammer on the construction site is not something you are likely to see Denise doing, except that one time she built a house in Mexico. But if you can’t decide on flooring or tile, she is your gal!
Barbara began working at Gannage Design and Construction in 2021 after transitioning from several years in the wine industry. Besides her love of Excel and perfectly balanced accounts, she enjoys traveling abroad, hosting parties, and reading books. Originally from Michigan, she and her husband moved to California in 2015 and have been loving life on the Central Coast. Barbara’s experience with bookkeeping and QuickBooks gives her the knowledge and ability to help keep Gannage Design and Construction running efficiently.
Nick joined the Gannage Design & Construction team in February 2023 as our Construction Superintendent after deciding that owning and operating his own construction company kept him behind a computer when where he excelled was in connecting with people. Nick spends most of his work day in the field with clients, contractors, and our team ensuring the project stays on track as intended.
From a young age, Nick fell in love with construction while helping his father and grandfather build their family home. In high school, Nick completed Architecture I, II, and III in addition to college-level math courses in preparation for making a career out of his passion. Nick’s passion for architecture and construction took a backseat, however, after he ran the mile in 4:23, which earned him a college scholarship in Track & Field and Cross Country. His focus, determination, and dedication saw him run in seven Nation Championships, finishing as high as 8th in the nation in Cross Country and Top 10 two times in the 5k and 10k track events. Post collegiately; Nick ran numerous half marathons, three marathons, and two 50ks before landing a job as Race Director and Event Director, where he honed his organizational and project management skills.
In 2016 Nick decided to return to his childhood love and dedicated himself to learning the trades. In 2019 he started his own construction company and successfully navigated the COVID pandemic with continued business growth. Ultimately Nick realized his passion was in the progress of the project, educating clients and crews and managing schedules, not business management, and we are eternally grateful as he has been a tremendous asset to the Gannage Design & Construction team from day one.
